The Academic Council, in accordance with the Charter of Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Regulations of the Faculty, is the highest collegial governing body of the faculty:

It resolves the most important issues related to the development of the faculty, its educational and scientific activities, international relations, financial and economic activities, and other activities.

It adopts the Regulations of the faculty, department, and laboratory of the faculty, makes changes to them, and submits them for approval to the rector of Moscow State University.

It approves the structure of the faculty and makes changes to it; it makes decisions on the creation, liquidation, or reorganization of departments (laboratories) and submits them for approval to the Academic Council of Moscow State University.

It approves the curriculum of the faculty.

It approves the plan of scientific research work of the faculty and annual reports on its implementation.

It approves plans for the economic and social development of the faculty.

It listens to the annual reports of the dean on the work of the faculty and evaluates the results of its activities.
