Research laboratories

The research laboratories of the faculty were established in accordance with the national needs for geographical research on specific fundamental issues. A necessary condition for the formation of such laboratories was the existence of an established departmental scientific school at the faculty in a particular direction, led by a strong leader – a scientific supervisor of fundamental and applied research. Over time, the main tasks of the laboratories could change, as well as their names, but the focus on the ultimate result and a problem-oriented approach to research remain unchanged.
