Field stations
To facilitate field practices, the faculty has established and maintains a network of educational and research bases (UNB) and stations (UNS), covering the entire diversity of landscape conditions – from the Hibin tundra to the plains of Central Russia and the highlands of the Caucasus. These bases provide necessary living conditions and facilities for classroom activities. The educational and research polygons are equipped with rich cartographic, geological, geographical, historical, cultural, and other information, which is of particular value for organizing educational practices. In addition to student fieldwork, the stations serve as research centers.
The educational and research bases and stations are also utilized for student's 3rd year internships and undergraduate pre-diploma fieldwork, as well as for conducting winter student expeditions of the scientific student society (NSS). Currently, the faculty has five bases and one station.
