Economic and Social Geography of Russia

Program description 

Professional training is aimed at obtaining knowledge and skills in identifying factors of socio-economic development of territories of different hierarchical levels, conducting a comprehensive assessment and geographical examination of projects of various types, strategic and territorial planning, developing tools and mechanisms for regional policy in Russia, making forecasts for the development of territorial socio-economic systems and placement of productive forces.

The content of the master's program pays special attention to methods of qualitative and quantitative analysis for the purposes of socio-economic diagnostics of the territory and strategic planning, methods of economic-geographical examination of socio-economic activities, assessment of the impact of anthropogenic activities on the environment, methodological approaches to managing urban development taking into account external conditions and internal factors, forecasting the development of territorial socio-economic systems and the location of productive forces.
