Program description
Professional training of masters is aimed at mastering theoretical and practical knowledge and skills sufficient for effective work in academic, university and industrial science institutions, solving theoretical and applied problems in various areas of surface water hydrology. The master's program is designed to combine professional training with basic knowledge about the landscape of the Earth. In the content of the master's program, special attention is paid to mastering the means of mathematical processing of hydrometeorological information, the ability to develop methodological and technological means to improve the efficiency of methods of hydrological calculations and forecasts, the ability to develop and implement plans for organizing economically efficient and environmentally safe water use, justifying measures to prevent social, economic and environmental damage in current and expected natural and socio-economic conditions.
Benefits of the program
Training of masters in various branches of hydrology
Training includes both broad-based and special hydrological disciplines in the field of hydrological calculations and forecasts; water quality issues; river sediment and fluvial processes; etc. Special attention is paid to modern methods of hydrological research, including issues of modelling and processing of hydrological data. Master's students also study disciplines from related areas of hydrometeorology to fully master the patterns of hydrometeorological processes. Special attention is paid to modern problems existing in the field of hydrometeorology in general and hydrology in particular.
Combination of powerful theoretical training and development of practical skills of students
Thanks to this, a master who has mastered the program can successfully work both in research areas and in production organizations that solve applied problems in hydrology and related fields.
